Legend has it that in 1769 the Ottawa and Potawatomi Native American tribes besieged the Sandstone butte overlooking the Illinois river. They pursued the Illiniwek, surrounded them, cut them off from food and water, until all of the Illiniwek had starved. Soon after the massacre, strange things started occurring to the Ottawa and Potawatomi tribesmen. Many tribes’ men went mysteriously missing, never to be seen again. When some were found, they were never found whole, but always torn to pieces as if ravaged and eaten by a wild beast. The Sandstone butte became known as "Starved Rock" where the Illiniwek became roaming zombie spirits known as Starved Men. They roam the Starved Rock State Park canyons hungry for human flesh.  Get your Starved Man mask and go hunting for revenge and human flesh!
